why mut tech community

Not another WhatsApp group.

Real industry access

Engineers and advocates from OKX and Microsoft spoke to students last semester alone.

You ship, not just attend

Weekly build challenges and real repos — not another WhatsApp group that goes quiet.

Built by students, for students

Run by your peers on a build-in-public rhythm, not a once-a-semester assembly.

Backed by the university

An official School of Computing & IT community, patroned by the Dean of SCIT.

questions

Before you join.

Do I need coding experience to join?+

No. We have members ranging from just getting started to advanced — the weekly challenges and learning paths are built to meet you where you are.

How much does membership cost?+

KSh 200 per semester. It covers member events, project access, weekly challenges, and a public builder profile.

Is this only for Computer Science students?+

No — we're open to students across Software Engineering, CS, IT, Computer Technology, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, and the Diploma in ICT.

What do I actually get as a member?+

Access to member-only events and workshops, the ability to join club projects, weekly build challenges, community resources, and a public profile showing what you've shipped.

How often does the club actually meet?+

Weekly, not once a semester — build nights, study groups, and challenges run continuously alongside the bigger flagship events.
